Ancient people were separate. People who lived before Han dynasty don’t have a way to know more about western countries. Even didn’t have a way to have communities with west because the differences about religions and culture. People didn’t know how to know more about each other. The Silk Road is the first time that people could have a formal way to trade goods and build relationship between different countries .This new connection between the East and West shaped history because for the first time eastern countries and western countries shared religion and traded goods by this huge market. Furthermore, the legacy of the Silk Road is that the relationship between eastern and western countries developed and shaped new culture. Silk Road began in Han dynasty. It was used to transportation the silk. Then it also transportated some other goods, for example, dates, copper, herbs, magnetic compass, silk, gunpowder and ceramics. It started in China to Europe. Chang’an to Istanbul. People would travel on foot, by horses or camels. It was dangerous because of the desserts. People could also earn a lot of money on Silk Road. In Han Dynasty, ZhangQian went to western countries to develop the relationship between eastern and western countries. The Silk Road helped Asia, Europe and the Middle East to know each other's culture, religion, economy, inventions and philosophy.Kashigar was an important city on the The Silk Road, because it connected traders from the East and West. It’s an oasis where all travelers and merchants had to resupply, mountains and fruit. There are Kunlun Mountain and Tian Shan Mountain nearby. These mountains are hard to travel. Fruit in Kashigar are famous all around the world. Also, markets there is the most famous around the world at that time.
Because of the location of Kashigar and the mixing of traders from all over the Europe and Asia, the markets gathered color and spice and life from all over the world. There’s a market called Bazaar in Kashgar. It means market, the place to trading. There’s a day, usually on Fridays or Sundays. People will sell their items on the market at that day. This market used to be the biggest in the Silk Road. Every year there will have thousands of people come to this market and buy something that they need. Bazaar is also a place for the foreign merchants to see the Kashgar’s culture and have a rest to keep going east. These markets were the seed of the desire for trade between the East and West that still shapes the economies of the East and West.
Spice is one of the most important products at that time in Kashgar. It's so valuable that many merchants come to get it. It’s also a very important way to save the food. They grew in the Moluccas and Spice Islands. Many people will buy spice in Silk Road because it really useful. Spice can be used for oil, ointments, perfume-powders, consmetics, incense and medicine. Spice is famous because of that and there’s a spice road as well. It’s about 15000 kilometers. It’s from China south to Indonesia, southern India and Sri Lanka. Spice become a very famous products in Silk Road. They also become a very important products when people want to show friendship to others.
Ginger is one of the famous spice. It’s the rhizome of the ginger plant. It’s used in medicine and cooking. This spice used to grow in Java, India and China. Turmeric is another products from ginger. It’s have a different way to use. People used in food and as a bright yellow dye. Spices are useful in many ways. Although it isn't necessary of our life, it's still very valuable. That's why spices are really famous all around the world and people want to get spices.
