Self- reflection
During the
school year, the biggest change is I can focus on teacher’s words most of the
class time. I used to listen for 10 mins and feel tired or boring. Now, it’s
much better than before. If you can really focus on the class, you will
attracted by the interesting classes. I think that happened because my English
improved. Also, teachers will listen to everyone’s advice and ask questions to
everyone. That makes you have to focus on your teacher. I hope to make it
better. I found this change because I used to ask others for homework, and I
don’t need to ask them now. It’s a better, positive change, that makes me can
learn more and get more knowledge.
First, there
are 43 people in my middle school, and there are only 14 now. Teachers can
focus on everyone in every class. The biggest difference between this two is
homework. In The Northwest School, I feel free and I can have more funny
homework. I don’t feel pressure during I’m doing homework. In China, we have
lots of homework and review a lot, so we have to work till 11:00 p.m. or 12p.m.
We are studying a lot that’s useless and we will never use that again in life.
In class, it’s so boring and we couldn’t have our own opinion in some articles,
we can only follow our teachers and are told that’s what the writer thought. I
really hate that sometimes because when you ask them, they even can’t give a
clear answer. However, it’s is quite different here, we can talk whatever we
want to say about our private ideas, and teachers just encourage that. That
also makes me learn more and have good efficiency in learning.
In the past year,
I enjoy theatre most. In theatre, we can act something that makes me feel free
and relax. Although there’re so many rules and require during the class we have
to do, I can have fun in that class. In theatre, we can go out and have class
outside or have snacks sometimes. It’s an excellent experience and much
different in China. Our teacher Ellen give us funny class just like making
masks and puppet. We can always have some creative ideas. It’s a wonderful
class and I really enjoy having theatre class. I chose some other classes
because I really want to find something new and excited to me and find a new
land.
During the
year, I feel I have great success in lecture. I used to have little notes and
can’t understand the teacher’s words at all. Now, I can know something about
teacher’s word and have more notes. I learned how to make a clear note. One of
my goals is do some sports and I joined soccer team. It’s a really good
experience because we have more free time, so that I can try something that.
This summer, I’m going to hand out with my friends and play soccer together, of
course, we are going to play games together. I also plan to travel to some
place in China. In the future, I hope to have more homework that we can
discuss, and more things like debates and group work. That will be cool for me.
